No, we haven't always been a Stake. Less than 80 years ago we were simply a handful of Saints. Our small congregations would meet in homes, rented halls, school gymnasiums, and those early Latter-Day Saints were grateful to gather together.
14Jan, 1979 was the weekend Elder Mark E. Peterson came from Salt Lake to create our Cranbrook Stake. Pres Brian Erickson was called to serve as the first Stake President.
